Advisory Board
Given the complexity of responder-perpetrated sexual exploitation and abuse (RP-SEA) in conflict-affected and fragile contexts, a diverse multidisciplinary collaboration committed to EDIA principles is essential to ensure comprehensive and actionable results. Participants will contribute expertise in areas such as SEA, humanitarian crises, peacekeeping, women, peace, and security, sociolegal studies, psychology, disability, masculinities, LGBTQI+ rights, respondent-driven sampling, mixed-methods and qualitative research, and sensemaking.

James Lavery
​Jim Lavery is the inaugural Conrad N. Hilton Chair in Global Health Ethics and Professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health in the Rollins School of Public Health, and Faculty of the Center for Ethics, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He is the Director of Graduate Studies for the Ph.D. Program in Global Health and Development in the Department of Global Health. Prior to joining the Emory faculty, Jim was the Principal Investigator and Managing Director of the Ethical, Social and Cultural (ESC) Program for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Health and Global Development programs from 2005-2015. His current work focuses on stakeholder engagement and organizational learning strategies to improve policies and practices in three main areas: (1) the equity of global vaccine distribution; (2) managing trade-offs between Mass Drug Administration (MDA) and the generation of anti-microbial resistance (AMR); and (3) the evaluation of complex community interventions for the elimination of malaria and NTDs. He is the co-creator of Brokered Dialogue, a film-based method for engaging stakeholders in collective problem solving for complex social challenges. He is a Fellow of the Hastings Center and the 2017 recipient of the Global Forum for Bioethics in Research Award for Contributions to Progress in International Research. He has held leadership positions for the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED) USA, Public Responsibility in Medicine & Research (PRIM&R), the Health Campaign Effectiveness Coalition at the Task Force for Global Health in Atlanta,and the Bioethics Advisory Council for Pfizer, Inc.

Yar Noi Deng Kur is a South Sudan-based security and operations professional with experience across humanitarian protection, logistics, and financial administration. She currently works in security and protection within UNHCR-supported programming, contributing to the safety of personnel and operations in complex environments. With a multidisciplinary background spanning monitoring and evaluation, prc:curement, and organizational coordination, Yar brings practical insight into frontline systems that support accountability and service delivery in humanitarian contexts. She is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, strengthening her understanding of socio-economic systems and development challenges.: Yar is committed to community-focused impact and contributes a grounded, fleld-informed perspective on safety, governance, and operational effectiveness in crisis settings.

Anthony Keedi
Anthony Keedi is a Lebanese psychologist and Gender and Masculinities Specialist who manages the Men Programme at ABAAD, a resource center for gender equality dedicated to ending gender based violence and advancing equality across the MENA region. He holds a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from the Lebanese American University and brings over twenty years of professional experience developing. piloting, and leading pioneering work on masulinities in Lebanon and across the SWANA region. His work focuses on engaging men and boys in advancing gender justice and transforming harmful social norms. He has led numerous initiatives supporting awareness raising and capacity building with refugee and host community groups throughout Lebanon.

Charu Lata Hogg
Charu Lata Hogg is the Founder and Executive Director of All Survivors Project. She serves on the UK Preventing Sexual Violence lnitiative. Steering Board and the Advisory Board of the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Detennination at Princeton. Formerly an associate fellow at Chatham House, a Human Rights Watch researcher, and a journalist in South Asia, her work foruses on human rights, sexual violence, and accountability. She holds a BA in history (University of Delhi) and an MSc in intemational relations (LSE).

Aude Brus
Aude Brus is a research specialist at Humanity & Inclusion (HI), an intemational NGO dedicated to standing alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations to improve their living conditions and uphold their dignity and rights. She has extensive experience in designing and implementing research projects in low-and middle- income oountries, with a focus on vulnerable populations. Over the past year, she has led the development of multiple methodological approaches for measuring project outcomes, as well as the creation of guidance notes and capacity-building initiatives. Committed to bridging the gap between research and practice, her work supports evidence-based programming and policy-making in resource-constrained settings, ensuring that knowledge generated is both relevant and actionable. Her work focuses on conflict dynamics, human security, and protection challenges in humanitarian settings. She has engaged with research on transnational violence, gender-based violence, and sexual exploitation and abuse in peacekeeping contexts, with particular attention to how institutional structures and power dynamics shape access to protection and justice. Her interests include accountability, protection frameworks, and the experiences of vulnerable populations in conflict- affected environments.

Marija Cvejic
Marija Cvejic is the Middle East & Eastern Europe Safeguarding and Protection advisor with World Vision, drawing on almost 15 years of experience with INGOs, the UN, and local women's organisations. She is pursuing her PhD at Charles University in Prague, focusing on women's civil society movements in the former Yugoslav region. She has conducted research on women-led civil society organisations and gender equality in the Westem Balkans for intenational NGOs, Central European University, and other academic and policy institutions.

Edward Alessi
Dr. Alessi's research focuses on stress, trauma, and resilience among LGBTQ+ individuals. More recently, he has examined how pre- and post-migration experiences affect the mental and sexual health of LGBTQ+ (im)migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. He has conducted studies globally and developed trauma-informed interventions, including arts- and theater-based HIV prevention programs. His work. published in leading journals, informs policy, clinical practice, and research. His emphasis on qualitative methods to understand how sociocultural and psychological processes shape the experiences of individuals with intersecting stigmas led to the development of trauma-informed research guidelines (TIRGs) for qualitative and mixed-methods research. Published in Oualitative Research in Psychology, the article is one of the flrst scholarly works to provide an in-depth discussion of how to conduct interview and focus group research that protects participants' safety and promotes their resilience.

Sifa Nyangoma Prisca
Sifa is a nurse working with SOFEPADI, where she provides medical care and support to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, with a specialization in general care. Before joining SOFEPADI as a nurse, Sifa volunteered with the organization for a year. In addition to providing patient care, she supports pharmacy services and participates in mobile clinics serving communities outside her city. Through her work, Sifa is committed to providing high-quality medical and psychosocial support to survivors of GBV. She is also interested in strengthening GBV prevention and awareness and contributing to training and capacity-building to support more effective and compassionate care.

Ahmad Saud
Ahmad is a human rights advocate specializing in LGBTQ+ rights, with a particular focus on the Middle East. He brings over eight years of professional experience working with intemational and local organizations in Lebanon, Syria, and Canada, where he served as a Coordinator and Project Manager with institutions including Helem, Makhzoumi Foundation, and UNHCR. His work has focused on protection from gender based violence, supporting displaced families in Syria and individuals affected by war trauma and domestic violence, as well as key interventions like the emergency response to the Beirut port explosion and digital safety initiatives for LGBTQ+ communities. He rurrently serves as a Newcomer Ambassador in Canada, supporting LGBTQ+ newcomers through community-based initiatives in St.James Town.
